Hey I’m Sarah! (She/Her)
I’m a small batch ceramicist creating, living & working in amiskwaciy-wâskahikan (Edmonton, AB) on Treaty 6 land.
My creative journey with ceramics began in 2012. At the time I was working at a community arts centre, and after many late nights closing the centre and poking around the pottery studios after hours - my curiosity finally got the best of me and I decided to take a beginners class. It was quite honestly love at first sight, and several years later SarahBeePottery was born. I have now been working with ceramics for an entire decade! It has always been important to me to live a creative life, and SarahBeePottery has certainly made that dream a reality for me.
When I’m not in the studio I enjoy watching vintage horror movies, reading fantasy and romance novels, drinking very large cups of hot coffee, and enthusiastically napping whenever possible. I am also a mother of two, which is my first and most important job!
A large selection of my work is geared specifically towards creatives like me and visual artists, “art for art” if you will. This includes a line of ceramic paint palettes, paint water cups, and painting accessories. Many of these pieces are small and compact, suitable for wherever your art practice thrives; whether that be your kitchen table or a dedicated art studio. This product line started as a personal collection, and has now grown to be my favourite style of ceramics to create!
